Aida De Moya is a guitarist, composer and arranger. Her compositions blend elements of jazz and Brazilian music with folkloric components of her native Dominican Republic. She started her path in music at the Institute of Culture and Arts (ICA) in Santiago. She then continued studying classical guitar and jazz in the National Conservatory of Music (CNM) where she competed for a scholarship that later on brought her to Berklee. She graduated Berklee with a B.M. in Jazz Composition and Performance. Aida also holds a Masters of Music in Jazz Studies- Composition from the New England Conservatory where she was under the guidance of Ken Schaphorst, Frank Carlberg and Donny McCaslin.

Aida has received many accolades including the Emily Remler, Tadd Dameron and Clare Fischer Awards from Berklee’s Jazz Composition and Guitar departments. She is a selectee of the Jazz Education Network’s Young Composer Showcase (2017). Her arrangements have been performed by renowned artists such as Paquito D’Rivera, Berta Rojas, Arturo Sandoval, Maria Creuza and Toninho Horta.

De Moya is also active in the film industry as a composer, music editor and orchestrator, having written additional music for Disney Channel’s Big City Greens, as well as recording guitars for Netflix’s A Tale Dark and Grimm and short film ‘Snatched’ among other projects.
